Beautiful thoughts by Kathy, Steve. There is something about the moon and love. When I gaze up at its peace and beauty, I am always reminded that we are ALL in its glow no matter where we are on this big blue ball and my thoughts go immediately to the porch... and to Mickey who connects us all. So I know what Kathy is saying.
Winter Winds.... how stunningly beautiful it is! My listening time is limited but not so limited when you have a discman... There I was, on hands and knees in the window of my shop, dusting and cleaning, but really I was at a concert, listening to the best singer in the world sing the best songs in the world. Thankyou Mickey. Thankyou Bob. Thankyou to everyone concerned.
This week, I managed (time is my problem) to get our local radio station to play Mickey. I requested Mabel Joy and I can tell you, it was a very spiritual thing to hear Mickey's beautiful and honest voice sing that wonderful song over air waves that are usually full of boring and mundane rubbish. I was thrilled and all I could think was that this is where Mickey Newbury belongs... everywhere!
Sorry for rambling on and for my lack of descriptive powers (words always fail me re Mickey's music) but it is late and my mind is tired. I'll just snuggle up in my ole rocker here and nod off a while....
