Waco was a wild place last night. They had crammed an estimated 20,000 people into a space that was designed for twelve thousand. Backstage was a a cluster%#%@! This show was done for one of the local programs for the needy and those who bought $200.00 tickets got backstage passes. Sammi and I laughed as it reminded us of Dripping Springs when we had so many people on stage there was real fear that it might fall down. Willie's bus pulled in as Pat Green was closing his show and had to howdy and shake with some of the large ticket buyers. Ben Dorsey came a got us and took us on stage right where there were a couple of folding chairs and we could sit and watch the show. Willie looked and sounded better than the shows I saw a few months ago. As is normal, he played for almost three hours non-stop! Because of the number of people on stage, Poodie took him off the back and then they held everyone on stage until his bus pulled out. The result was that we didn't have a chance even to say hi. Sammi was dispointed, but understood the situation. We did have the opportunity to visit with the guys in the band and Jody and Bee both told me to give their wishes of good health to Mickey. We pulled back into the Stamps Estate about four this morning and just got up about an hour ago. (2 PM) This old man just can't handle the night life like I used to. Sammi is looking good and, for the most part, feels ok. The drive down and the lack of sleep took it's tole and she's down for a nap right now. There's more to report on her, but I'll do that later.
