I started out with a platic Elvis four-string back in 1956, and I've now graduated to a Guild F-50 custom, but I suggest you haunt the pawn-shops in your area for name-branded Flat-tops, Gibson, Martin, Epiphone, Guild, etc. You may pay a little more for one, but the value always appreciates on good instruments. Perhaps you could advertise in your local newspaper, and the community notice board. Search the garage sales!
