Jesse, there are a lot of us here who have walked the same path. I too fell in love with Mick's music almost 30 years ago when I was in college in Denton. I went to law school at SMU from '75 to '78, and I turned many of my friends on to Mick - many late night, beer drinking, Newbury sessions during those years. I went through the 8 track deal, and for years and years I searched used record stores literally throughout the country for vinyl to replace other scratched up vinyl. I wound up with quite a stock pile. I also bought everything of Waylon's that had a Newbury song on it, Joan Bayez, and anyone else I cold find. I remember one real treat in about '89 - I found the Big Sur Festival album that had Mick and Joan on it singing a duet of Frisco Mabel Joy. Coincidentally, I too went for a long time without a copy of Montezuma/Looks Like Rain, and it was always my favorite. I finally ordered a used vinyl copy off the internet in '94 or so.

I've been posting on this board since '98, and I've gotten to know Mick very well. I'm proud today to be able to call him a close friend, even though we've only met face to face one time. Mickey the man is every bit as special as Mickey the singer/songwriter.

I have a 14 year old son that got to meet Mickey, and he has not stopped listening to his CD's since. I mean he is flat wearing them out. I'm gonna' have to order more.

I live in Teague, 8 miles west of Fairfield off I-45. If you ever travel this way look me up. If I ever get to Houston, I'll look you down.

Welcome to the porch! You're among kindred spirits.
