The band you mentioned was a bluegrass/roots outfit called the Dillards. I don't know the brother's names. I think they were th Darlings on Andy Griffith. They sound like they're from southern appalachia, east Tennessee or NorthCarolina. But I wouldnt be surprised to hear they were from NYC.
