Most Underated Songwriters?

This should start something...I started thinking about this last night. I believe that most of us here believe that Sir Mickey Newbury is one of, if not the finest songwriter, we've ever known. There are other fine writers out there...many who have turned out volumes of work, yet few outside of the music business know their names. An old friend of mine, Jerry Fuller, is a great example, Wayne Carson Thompson is another. I've always thought Randy Owens never received the credit that he deserved as a writer, but he wrote most of Alabama's hits. Knowing that those who rock on Micky's porch have above average knowledge of the music business, I wondered about your thoughts along this line. Who would you add to my list?
