A guy I always loved and don't know much about is Randy Van Warmer who wrote and recorded "Just When I Needed You Most" in 1979. Michael Johnson recorded "I WIll Whisper Your Name" on his RCA album. Randy had at least one album but I never hear anything about him.

Roy, here's a great story for you. I was drafted in November of 1961 and did Basic at Fort Ord outside of Monterey. After 4 weeks, they finally let us go to the PX for some of that 3.2 beer. Those 4 weeks are long and the first thing I did was rush to the jukebox and put my right arm around it like a long lost lover. There was a guy standing next to me and I said to him:

"Man, do I miss music"

He replied: "Yeah, me too. I wrote that song".

The song playing was "Travelin' Man" by Rick Nelson.

The guy was Jerry Fuller.
