As I sit here digesting the news of Mick's passing, I think back to our last two conversations. During the first one Hurricane Isidore was South and East of Cuba. Mick told me it was going to go right over New Orleans. This was a week before it actually happened. Mick somehow could see things like this. Luckily it was not still the Major Storm it had been earlier in it's cycle. As I look at my cell phones "Recent Calls" menu, "Received Calls", the last entry from yesterday, I see a familiar area code and number. I somehow hope it doesn't ring again. But I know it will. And along with it a dilution in my memory of that last conversation with Mick. For that is the way memories work. By The Way, Mick believed that Lili (the next storm) would hit the South Texas Coast, so those of you down there just might keep one eye on the sky. He had, on several occasions told me his thoughts on where storms were going with an amazing track record. Always well beyond the 72 hour forecast that we get from the news. Every day People depart this World for the next step of the journey. But seldom, if ever, do they have an impact on others as Mick had. Mick's impact will continue for generations. The words are timeless. For those who listen, and hear, the words reach a place and depth most never even realize they posess. Then when you think you understand what he was saying, another door in your mind opens, and a whole new meaning from the same words springs forth. It was a gift that few are blessed with but Mick had it, and this will live on, beyond us all. Keep listening. Ernie
