In my opinion, Mickey was the greatest 'all-purpose' singer/songwriter that has ever lived. Nobody is a close second. I say that because no one could fuse Country, R&B, Folk and Jazz and still make each offering his own, and do it without one single trace of false rural or urban gestering. That is a hard creative endeavor to accomplish, and he did it every single time. I'll miss his calls,I'll miss him as friend and the North American earth is a better place for having him walk upon it. Those are my feelings. All the best to Family. Well done Mickey Newbury.
