When I discovered the sad news yesterday afternoon I felt like standing next to me, just murmuring to my wife, dear, a good friend of us is no more. She dropped in suspecting me having misunderstood this or that - but when her eyes caught these lines it seemed as if they had captured all the evil of the world and all at once. The two of us felt as if someone suddenly had closed each window and switched out each light. We´ve never had the chance to meet Mickey in person, and speaking of friendship may sound a bit queer. Let me add that this man´s music and verses have kept us company for the decades of our lives - need I say more? I guess you will understand what I am trying to say in a foreign language. Our hearts are with Mickey´s family. -There´s a request of ours, and we hope that someone will do us the favour to send us a copy of the special broadcast of today, Sept. 30th.
