I just had a visit with a very tiny lady with big tears and a heavy heart. But still strong enough to put a “bear hug” on ya’. Also, even through everything, she remains... “cute”. That’s always been a complaint of mine, when we would go somewhere like out to eat, is that people would come up to her and tell her how cute she is. Kind of like having one of those pickineese (sp?) dogs with a bow in it’s hair with you.

She says that to watch the board about when the services will be. She said that Bob would probably post about it. Never thought an angel could disguise it’s self as a lawyer but apparently that is what has happened. Thanks Bob.

She and Jerry have been getting a lot of phone calls. They’re really “beat” guys and running on reserve so if you get the answering machine please be understanding and leave a message. They and friends are trying to get back to everyone. I probably don’t know much myself but if you’d like to call me with anything feel free to do so. If the phone just rings it’s because I’m on the other line and please call back. I’ll answer if I’m in, if not leave a message and I’ll get back with you. I guess you’ll need my number: 936-295-8738. Or email me.

I knew that I’d hate myself for mentioning it but I (very politely) said that “I notice that there’s no bread puddin’ (with lemon sauce)”. She said maybe next time.

We held hands some and she cried some. She is very thankful for Susan.

She sends her love to all.

I stayed less than an hour. I hugged her again for me and everyone here and left. As I was driving out the drive way, I looked over at the little old house where she and Milton use to live. I remembered when, over thirty years ago, this little guy with a big smile walked up to me in the front yard and said “Hi, I’m Mickey Newbury.”
