Mickey didn't listen to many other artists because he thought it muddled his writing, but he did love Eve Cassidy's version of "Wayfaring Stranger". It's on her Songbird album, track 4. We call her the female Mickey Newbury. Laura and I have been listening to it all morning, and it helps. (:
