No this is not like an Elvis sighting or anything (heH Heh heh) but this morning as the sun shone brilliantly and the sky was so beautifully clear and blue, I began to think to myself that, for all its beauty, this world is a sadder place now our Dear Heart is no longer "up there" (for me) at the top of this big blue ball. But before the thought even left the brain cell, I had the strongest feeling of Mickey being there, reminding me that he is always with us. I immediately felt peaceful.
My son, Stuart, asked especially that his deepest sympathy be passed on to Mickey's family. (I had told Mickey that Stuart's band has recently been signed by a subsiduary "down under" of EMI and he passed on advice to Stuart). All of my family have great respect for Mickey and feel for those who love him most, his family.
Today, I placed a personal tribute to Mickey in the two major Melbourne newspapers. I tried to write something clever and beautiful but in the end, it is just words from an ordinary ole friend "down under". The notice says:
Newbury, Mickey - Passed away peacefully on 29th September at his home in Oregon, USA. Mickey, both you and your music have enriched my life. I'll love you forever, Dear Heart - Karen
And I will.
I wanted to share that with you all. My love to Susan, Mamie and "the kids",
