Dear Susan and Family, Our family wanted to let you know that we share in your family's loss of Mickey. We were not fortunate enough to have a chance to meet any of your beautiful children, but have kept up with you and Mickey and your family through Aunt Mamie. We all want to send our love, prayers and sympathy. My name is Donna ... my mother, Peggy Newbury Tice, is Mickey's 1st cousin - her father (my grandfather), Skeet was Milton's brother.

It has been almost 30 years since we met you on that great big boat that you and Mickey used to live on close to Nashville. You were kind enough to invite us to stay the night after we had driven from Houston while in the middle of taking a summer vacation. I was only 10-12 years old at the time and it seems like it was yesterday. He made such an impression on me and still does. I had grown to miss his visits to our house in Houston and it had been a while since he had driven up our driveway in that big gold car (I think it was a Cadillac, not sure though). Getting to sleep on that boat with Mickey was a huge thrill. I'm not sure if you remember, it was so long ago, but I just wanted to rekindle that memory one more time of visiting with the two of you in Nashville.

We have all been able to stay close to Mickey through his beautiful music that we share such a love for. I always got such a big kick when Uncle Mick would respond to one of my messages left here for him on the Front Porch. It has been a little while though since I have posted anything, but I always liked to keep up even if it was just to read a post or two every now and then. It has been about 10 years or so since we last saw him when he toured through Houston, but he has and always will be forever in our hearts. We miss him terribly and regret that we never had the chance to get to know you and your children (our cousins) through the years ... you and yours will be in our hearts always. God bless each and every one of you.
