This sounded like Mick, so here goes:

I never had no regrets, boys Not for nothin' I've done I owed the devil some debts, boys, And paid 'em all up but one And I don't even regret the livin' That I'll be leavin' behind I've gotten weary of searchin' For somethin' I couldn't find

I'm goin' down to the shade by the river one more time And feel the breeze on my face before I die I'm gonna leave whatever's left of my luck to the losers Then bend me down, and kiss the world goodbye

Come to lucky in lovin' Never had no complaints They never said I was evil But then I wasn't no saint I'm just a river that'll roll forever And, never got to the sea I ain't blamin' nobody I had it comin' to me

I'm goin' down to the shade by the river one more time And feel the breeze on my face before I die I'm gonna leave whatever's left of my luck to the losers Then bend me down, and kiss the world goodbye

I had the priviledge of talking with Mickey on the phone two times. We didn't discuss music much. First time he kept me talking for 2 hours. We talked about the Minoan and Etruscan cultures. Greek mythology. The political climate today. The second time, he'd 'fallen off' a bit, and didn't talk more'n 30 minutes. I consider it a highlight of my life to've gotten to talk to him. He was truly one of my musical heroes, and I will miss just knowing he's around, even if I never talked to him again.

But, I think, as in the old gospel song 'Suppertime', there'll come a day when we'll all gather at the big table, and the Lord'll say, "Come on in, it's suppertime." I look forward to talking with Mickey again, then. My sympathy goes out to Susan and family. My prayers and best wishes are with you.
