That is a wonderful idea, and I would love to share my early memories with all of you. I have had the joy of knowing Mickey in his early years because my Dad was his Dad's first cousin, but they were always Aunt Mamie and Uncle Milton to me. I spent a lot of time staying with them when I was around 5 and younger and then Mickey spent a lot of time with us when he was older. I have so many wonderful memories and probably was one of the first that he sang his first songs to....I was only 11 or 12 and he would corner me and say "how does this sound" and of course...I sat there in awe and knew he sounded good, but I got tired of listening to him ask me, over and over..."how does this sound".....I was only 12...and thought..."I'm tired of listening to this"...please let me listen to my own music....little did I know...but later I grew to appreciate his music. There is so much more to share, I haven't seen Mickey probably since I sat there at the hospital holding his hand when Uncle Milton was in ICU. I stayed all night and had to leave the next day and drive back to San Antonio. What a loss for all of us...especially Aunt Mamie, Jerry, Susan and his children...I know my heart is truly sad...and all I can say is I have "Sweet Memories" and I will cherish them always.
