Thank you Ron. Thanks also are due to Katherine LeDuc and Peter Quinn who make sure the orders get filled and distributor shipments get to whereever they need to be. To say it has been an honor and a privilege is truly an understatement. Thanks to Bob R. (a/k/a Sweet Bobby a/k/a Runaway Bob), I was introduced to Mickey Newbury, the man and his music, and began the adventure of a lifetime. From even before the Hermitage ballroom concert that became Nights When I Am Sane, the launch of Winter Harvest and its demise, to building mailing lists and sending postcards, to Songs.com where the internet finally was the world's gateway to Mickey and his fans communicating directly with him and one another. To the development of Mickey's own proud label, Mountain Retreat and this very special website. To watch in wonder and with excitement as Mickey, Bob, Paula Wolak, and Owsley Manier created and fine tuned each new release to perfection bringing together Mickey's vocals, musicians, artwork, covers, liner notes, every detail to create musical masterpieces one after the other...the packaging of each and every shipment to all corners of the globe from everywhere in the USA, to Russia, to China, the UK, Norway, Sweden, Australia, Mexico, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Canada and more! To forwarding fan letters and cards to Mickey and so much more. But the best was always talking to Mickey himself. I'd give anything for one more call. I haven't posted much because I always felt this was your special place -- your's and Mickeys - an extension of the music and the man. But you should know I came as often as I could to read, to laugh, and learn. I am so glad Susan, the kids and Mamie have you all. This is Mickey's porch, his creation, his lasting tribute. I believe no artist has ever gathered together a greater collection of wondrous, loving, kind and compassionate people who are more than fans, they're family. I have a picture at my desk of Mickey, Bob, Paula and Owsley from the gathering at Perdido Key, all with great big smiles. They are Mountain Retreat and the reason for its success. I'll be with you tomorrow, and last I looked it forecast rain...
