You'll all be glad to know that there will be a bit of a tribute on one of the most listened to (multi-lingual) radio stations here in Tokyo on Sunday night our time: InterFM ...{about a half of a day (give or take) after the services in Oregon...}
I lent my box set and a copy of a recording from THE concert here from the Tokyo Int'l Song Festival of "Heaven help the Child" (Thanks Joe Z and Ron)... to one of my student's dad's who DJ's a show on Sunday nights here (local time from 9-11 p.m.)... who has said he'll choose a few songs and play a bit of a tribute to Mickey.
He also broadcasts a show on NHK television (equivalent to PBS in the States) and has said he may also try to include something when he records this weeks programme....
So in honour of Mickey's time here, we'll be remembering him here Sunday night...and that's just the beginning...I'll try to make recordings of both of these programmes if I'm able and let you all know...
I remember when I first posted about two years ago, Mickey e-mailed me right away and said how much his trip to Japan meant to him and Susan -- what great memories they had of that time here... it'll be fitting then that his voice is heard across the radio waves here this week as well...
