I wish now more than anytime before that I was in Texas... I've never been much for rain (think I got that from my dad) and today in Oregon there was a lot of it. Today, memories of my father sat in my mind and planted themselves in my heart. I missed him more than ever today. I know he is happy... I know the pain is gone... but that will never keep me from missing him. When I walked in the front door, dear Joe Gilchrist said "Well aren't you just Texas..." I pulled my cowboy hat tighter on my head as I began to blush... but I took that comment with pride. A little piece of Texas - my daddy - will forever live inside me. Oh how I wish I could hug him right now....
