I hate to hear the Mickey is no longer with us.......I had gotten to know him over the last ten or so years when he came to the Frank Brown Songfest.....about two years ago...Sharon and I were at Joe Gilchrist's house.. and Mickey was staying there... He ask if we'd like to hear some of his new stuff.. I said of course......He really hadn't writen much for several years....but he had been fired up...around that time........he played several new songs.... and said how did we like them..... I said.. It was like atteneding.. songwriting 101...........Many years ago I ask him how did it feel to be a legend.. and he said......." I'm no legend..Stephen Foster is a legend...if they're still playing my songs a hundred years from now.. then you can call me a legend".... JohnEdd
