It's early morning in California and as usual I go to my computer and sign into the Porch. I scroll and look for Mickey's signature "angel wings". He usually tucked us into bed long after I was asleep. Then I remember, Mickey has his real angel wings now. I ponder how someone I have met only once, saw in concert twice and talked to on the phone once has become part of my family. I reflect on how his children and Susie and Mamie and all the gentle souls who rock on this Porch are also part of my daily life. I am in awe of the thought that this afternoon all around the world we will pause in love and respect and honor Mickey and his music. Thank you Mickey Newbury, you gave me more than music...Love, Lois
