Tonight in Tokyo a bit of a tribute was played on InterFM radio's "Barakan Beat" programme... <www.interfm.co.jp> The DJ Peter Barakan began by playing "Just Dropped In" by Kenny Rogers and the 1st Edition, followed by "Time is a Thief" by Solomon Burke. He then played "SanFrancisco Mabel Joy" from Live at Montezuma Hall and after a brief bit of background about "American Trilogy" went on to talk about the Tokyo International Music Festival and played the recording from when Mickey performed here at the festival of "Heaven Help the Child".

I did manage to record it on MD if anyone is interested in a copy,just e-mail me and let me know and I'll see if I can get a copy to you.

Thanks to Peter Barakan (and Joe Z -- he used the CD you sent:-)...It's great to hear Mickey's songs over the radio waves here in the land of the rising sun...

My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you all -- especially Susan, Mamie, Jerry, Joe, Laura Shayne, Chris, Leah, Stephen -- and the rest of the extended family. I was with you all early this morning (Karen it was 6 a.m. my time here;-) together with a number of folks who joined hands around the pool...

Love and hugs to you all. It has meant a great deal to me to be able to connect with everyone here on the porch and poolside during this past week...my heart is full...
