Mickey was buried at the Pioneer Cemetery between Springfield and Vida, just outside of Leaburg on Greenwood Road. It is a quiet country cemetery in a beautiful location between beautiful green and wooded hills. Mickey had picked it out himself. It is close to the golf course he frequently played. The service was small. It rained that morning and was a gray overcast day. The service started with Jon Mark's tribute song. After a prayer and a few words from Susie's Mom and a few others, an airforce honor guard gave Maime the flag and taps was played. Recordings of Mickey singing "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" and "Blue Skies Shining" were played. It was a short ceremony but it was emotional and gave honor to Mickey and his family. They all bore up well. This is a remarkable family with strong faith and love. They support one another and give each other strength and comfort. They knew you were all there in spirit and it was a great comfort to them.
