Jay, I believe no one who came across Mickey got more respect than songwriters. Not performers, producers, arrangers, nor anyone else in out out of the biz. He shared many stories of what a songwriter endures. You probably heard some in your interview with him (which you should share here ;) ).

Mickey continued to consider himself not a performer, but a songwriter even though so many say that nobody sings his songs as Mickey does.

Though you never co-wrote with Mickey, there are many songwriters out there who speak of him as you do. They are the ones you should co-write with. That would be Mickey's legacy.

I understand why Mickey wants to be remembered for his writing. After a singer leaves this world, we have only memories and recorded facsimiles of his performances. But a writer's songs can live on forever.

Please help us access your songs.
