Laura and I got home today, and started a new family tradition. We're going to listen to a 'new' song every night. It's a wonderful thing to be able to play his music as loudly as we want. He never let us do that before. It interfered with his writing. (:
Tonight we listened to "Dragon and the Mouse". Laura had never heard it ???? (I'm a terrible mother.)
The music is what it is all about. After family, it was what Mickey cared about. He'll visit with grandchildren before they make their appearance here, cautioning them to take care of each other and their parents, and he'll watch to see if his music really means anything to us.

Laura and I also think we need to start planning another gathering. Maybe not this summer, but next? Karen has a long way to fly, unless we all want to go 'down under'.
It helped to get back to work today. There was just one incident. I had a student who is known to be a little spacey. He walked into class and loudly proclaimed, "Gosh Mrs. Newbury, you're back!! Were you sick or something? We missed you." I thought the other students were going to faint. We got through it.
