Just getting off work and it's getting late but I needed to write a thought or two down--Living pretty close to some train tracks hasn't been the same for the past week each time they go by. I hear the whistles and I think a lot about Uncle Mick. I am greatful to read these wonderful posts and tributes to him. Aunt Susie and Chris, Leah and Stevie and Laura, I love you so much for making my childhood every summer or Christmas or Spring break the best any kid could ever have. I always fantasized during these times of being a Newbury year-round and I'm quite sure Aunt Susie that you would have loved having me--you know, a year's worth of Chris and I...how cool would that be!!!! What's not to love? Rolling Jeep Cherokees, playing in wasp nests, broken arms, getting in car wrecks with thugs, on Thanksgiving of course, stomping on the roof in the middle of the night, throwing cats off balconies, eating everything in the house, chucking apples out the back door between two gigantic glass windows just because the angle and trajectory of Chris' throw was "cool", getting lost in the woods and making you come pick us up, going on 900-mile long road trips with two punk 15-year old kids while listening to heavy metal the whole way, blueberries, chinese stars, knives, pellet guns, and dry ice bombs going off in one direction or the other, all the while, you and Uncle Mickey loved me like your own. I love you forever
