Lately I have looked in on the Porch only occasionally. I learned just yesterday of Mickey's passing. I wager none of us will leave such a legacy as he.
I have never felt comfortable here. As a cynical skeptic I seemed out of place among you. But, oh how I loved Mickey's music. I was born three days after him, one state away in Oklahoma. I was in the Air Force at about the same time. I heard "Remember the Good" in '69 or '70 and have felt a certain kinship with him ever since. I didn't know him personally as many of you did but I will miss him too.
