Which says a great deal about those folks who do that show. Like Performing Songwriter, Nanci Griffith (on her two "influences" CDs) and even Lyle Lovett (on his songwriters CD), they missed the best. Mickey went to Nashville in 1963 and was the first of the Texas songwriters (Bob Wills is in a different catagory), lending a hand to those who came later. Waylon and Willie knew, but some forgot. Apparently, no one on ACL knew. Too bad.
