Good Morning America,Long time no write! I just heard the sad news that Mickey passed away. Mydeepest sympathy to all his family friends and everybody who loved him and his great music as much as I did and still do. On Sept. IIth.I organised an anniversary Mass in the local hotel here in Douglas, we got two Americans to do the readings, the stars and stripes was on the wall and the City of Cork Male voice Choir sang throughout the mass finally ending it with a track from their latest CD,American Trilogy.'So that's one more cover.When I heard the sad news I bought a six pack of Bud went into my music room,put my headphones on and listened to "Live at Montezuma Hall", and went to bed at three am. The next night I rang my friend John up the country and told him the sad news, He told me that he had a bottle of wine in the fridge and that he was going to raise a glass to Mickey and listen to the live album. Thr good news is that yesterday I sat in my music room with my one year old daughter on my knee whilst we listened to "If you see her and she mentions my name", and she was bouncing around ,so there's another Mickey Newbury on the way.
