Dear Dave: I surely don't assume to speak for anyone else with these thoughts. Each person grieves in his or her own way. Each has different ways of numbing the pain and grief of a loss. Some with tears that can be seen by all...Some with quiet tears seen by only that person... Some with stories and fond memories ...And some.. with light conversation to mask the grief and pain inside. A joke, small talk about the weather, talk of a place or event. And; some, maybe, with a comment on a favorite sport or team... I don't believe Mickey would ask we lay beside him for this part of his journey...but, maybe, continue to celebrate each new sunrise and sunset and all those little 'treasures' we find in between... You did not offend me with your comments. I can see part of your grief.
