Again, not a naive question. Mick couldn't read music the way that most folks do. He was self taught...he tuned his guitar in such a way that his cords were his own. He told me once that if I would come see him he would teach me to play a guitar with one finger. Sadly, I never got there. I'm sure that Jeff or Jonmark could give you a more detailed discription of how he did it.
