Hi Bob,

Hope all is well.

I've been chasing that down. The person who manages that site advised, "John Denver sang the song in his last concert before he died in the plane crash. There is supposed to be a tape of that entire concert, titled Sweet Memories."

So... I've corresponded with a few John Denver discographers... who are not familiar with Sweet Memories. One nice lady in the UK who manages a site (www.fojd.org.uk) titled, Friends of John Denver advised:

QUOTE

I am not familiar with the song "Sweet Memories". I was not at John Denver's last concert (which was in Corpus Christi, Texas, on 5 October 1997) nor have I heard any recording of it. To the best of my knowledge, no recording exists - certainly there has been no commercial release. I was at John's concerts the previous weekend, and he did not sing that song then, nor at concerts in Fort Worth on 1st and Austin on 4th October. He did perform at a private party on (I believe) 3rd October and I don't know what he sang there."

"The most recent John Denver concert recordings to be released are from Harbor Lights, Boston (September 1995 - complete concert available) and Constitution Hall, Washington DC December 1996 (edited Christmas concert). Sweet Memories is not on either of those.

I have looked at your web site and see that you are already aware that John sang San Francisco Mabel Joy on his album Some Days Are Diamonds. Peace, Christine

END QUOTE

If John Denver did perform Sweet Memories... we will eventually find it. Perhaps the site is confusing Sweet Memories with Sweet Surrender.
