I posted something below under "Regrets", and then thought that it might be so far down that no one would see it....so here we go again...
This was mentioned last year and nothing ever got done. So, this is an official, unoffical notice! I'm going to throw out some ideas...nothing is written in stone...I'm requesting feedback, either here or by e-mail (shown above). Ok...here we go....
Where to hold it? Because of it's central location, the fact that it is served by all major airlines...including Southwest...the food and the music is always good...hotel and motel rates are very reasonable...and a bunch more...AUSTIN!
When? I'm saying the later part of spring, such as the last weekend in May or the first weekend in June...a lot of porchers are involved in school, either as teachers or in other ways...also thinking of Susan...it needs to be after school is out and that can vary by city and state.
The folks I know who would help...Myself, Charlie Day, Susan Williamson, Randy Dodds, LarryLarry, Sir William Smith, Dave, Texas Granny, and a few others who's names escape me now, could form a committee and make stupid decisions....and a few smart ones....by meeting in Austin for said committee meeting, it wouldn't be over a three hour drive for anyone.
Some type of small register fee would be needed to cover room rental, PA and such...maybe ten buck a person.
Seven or eight months would give everyone time to make travel plans...folks like Jonmark, Jack Williams, Steve Young and other artists who love Mick to make a hole in their schedules for such an event.
I throwing out ideas here...only ideas...I need input...I'm sure there are others who have ideas and some who might want to head this project.
Susan...if you read this...we want your opinions and ideas. Please voice same!
Ok...I've taken up enough of Mikes computer space, let me and others here from you...we NEED TO DO THIS!
