Dyle Grisham...A steel player in Nasville had a device about 12"long 4" wide.operated by a footswitch....which he used to make his steel guitar sound like a violin. Beautiful sound!! I don't know the name of that device...but he had it back in the 70s. Maybe that info might help you. I don't know Doyles Phone number anymore...he is probably listed in the phone book. Don't know if he has a CP either. You or your friend might try a call to him. Roy...the tube device you are talking about for the steel was to make the steel talk like a person and it was Pete Drake (I think ) who came up with that thing. There was a recording made of that steel talking that was played on the radio..also in the 70s.
