Dear Ginny, Thank you for posting the article. I had totally forgotten that Mickey had taken violin lessons when young. I suddenly remembered him telling me that he did and once borrowed my fiddle to play "Twinkle Twinkle" for me. We both chuckled a bit at the results.

But this explains why he was drawn to want to produce an entire album with just solo violin accompaniment. And I remember how much he especially loved performing concerts with just the violin. We played all sorts of venues, from bars to concert halls, and it always worked. When did anything involving Mickey not work. He could make the impossible seem easy. Even a smoky bar in Houston where, I don't think there had ever been a solo violinist before that night. Bless his great big heart for being so musically open to trying such an outrageous duo.

Again, thanks, Ginny for reminding me of his early violin lessons.

Marie Rhines
